Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the movie Piano. She started her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. The actress has always had an interest in acting from the time when she was in the high school. Her debut role in a production in fifth grade was Helen Keller. As a result of having mumps, she went blind on the other side of her ear. But, it didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to be an actress. While in college, she took classes in theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter was trapped in the lift of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After moving from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find films to play. The role of a supporting actress was securing for her in Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in numerous movies, television shows and movies over the course of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
